Service Description: Building Permits issued by the City of Albuquerque, Planning Department starting in 2009 through the present time. Complete permit records were entered into the KIVA permitting system starting in 2009 until September 23, 2016. At that time, the Planning Department began utilizing a new permitting system called POSSE LMS that was designed by Computronix. Permits entered from September 26, 2016 to the present were initiated in POSSE LMS. Permits were geocoded using locators built with AGIS verified address data and were matched to the individual parcel either using the parcel or legal description. The initial geocode of this data layer occurred in Dec 2016 and records were matched based on address and legal description data that existed at that time. This layer includes all permits coded as building permits, which includes additions, alterations, foundations, new buildings, pools, and shell buildings. A complete list of this information is in the field attribute section of these metadata. In order to understand projects with multiple phases of permitting, especially pertaining to valuation of larger scale projects, multiple permit records over a longer time period will need to be analyzed. Additionally, for multiple family projects, it is important to understand that each building receives a new permit, especially pertaining to unit counts.
